"On the 18th October 2022 Dr and Mrs Franco De Paoli held a dinner at the Embassy Residence in honour our Councillor, Dame Ann Gloag. The evening started with drinks pool side at their wonderful home, so beautifully decorated by Marinella.
Dame Ann has been a Councillor at the Embassy in Kenya for the last 3 years and was celebrating with her friends and family 20 years since set up the Jonathan Gloag Academy, a not for profit school in the heart of Nairobi. The dinner started with a wonderful prayer given by David McCleary and after the superb Italian cuisine, speeches were made, led by Dr Franco De Paoli, the Embassy’s First Councillor and Charge d’Affaires. The speech started with words from The Ambassador, HE Wilhelm von Trott zu Solz, who was unable to be at the event:

HOW ANNE GLOAG'S CHARITY WOTK CAME BACK TO HAUNT HER
The case against her was tangled up in her charity work. About 40 people are thought to have travelled to Scotland mainly from Africa under the auspices of the Gloag Foundation since it was established in 2004.
Often they arrived to study at Perth College, an outpost of the University of the Highlands and Islands, about five miles from Gloag’s home at Kinfauns Castle. Some of these individuals were among up to seven people who filed complaints against Gloag, including a number who had obtained British citizenship.

The adopted son of Stagecoach tycoon Ann Gloag is in intensive care in an African hospital after a car crash.
Peter Gloag, 24, was injured in a road accident on Sunday and Mrs Gloag has flown to be at his bedside.
Mrs Gloag found Peter sleeping among rubbish in Kenya when he was 10-years-old and adopted him, bringing him to Scotland in 1995.

TRAGEDY AS ANNE GLOAGS SON JONATHAN GLOAG COMMITS SUICIDE
Robin Gloag, who has died in a car crash aged 64, was, with his then wife ANNE GLOAG .
But after only three years, he was forced out of the company after a business and marital split of deep bitterness, and subsequent tragedy.
He was left to watch as his former wife Ann and her brother, Brian Souter, amassed huge personal fortunes as they transformed the company from its origins as a secondhand coach operator into an international transport conglomerate with holdings in five continents extending to rail and airport operations as well as buses. Last year Stagecoach turned over £1.5bn.
Relations with his former wife remained hostile. Of the oft-repeated saga of Stagecoach's turbulent early years he commented: "I wish the story would die, and them with it" - though he took a little comfort from the fact that he still owned one Stagecoach share: "They tried to get me to sign it away, but it's still in my name… They didn't push hard enough and I didn't fall off a cliff."

ANNE GLOAG CHARGED WITH HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Police investigating Stagecoach founder Dame Ann Gloag and others in connection with a probe into human trafficking allegations have submitted a report to prosecutors.
Four people were charged in January by Police Scotland.
At the time, a spokesperson for Dame Ann said she "strongly disputes the malicious allegations" made against her, her foundation and members of her family.
The force said on Wednesday that a report has now been sent to prosecutors. The Crown Office confirmed it had received the report.
